President | Veteran Peer Support Leader
Hello, my name is Brandon. I'm a U.S. Army Combat Veteran of 12 years. The military has a way of impacting one's soul to the core, and it is something that has made an impact on me during my years of service. I made many friends, whom I am happy to call brothers and sisters, and to see them come home, only to struggle with too many of the same demons that I was facing, impelled me to found "The Warfighters Mission.". I just don't have the words to say how thankful I am to those that have made this possible. "The Warfighters Mission" is very close to my heart, and I hope it is to yours as well, as we work to make sure no warrior suffers the agony, anguish, and loneliness of PTSD.
Being listened to, being reminded that I have company in this experience, and knowing that I had divine support influenced my healing in a big way. Where I might naturally tend to isolate or hide, my journey toward mental wellness was decidedly communal. I was blessed with a family who stood by me, and I found unexpected reservoirs of strength in my faith.
For me, "The Warfighters Mission" brings to mind the description of the good shepherd in Luke 15:4–7, whose surefire method of finding that one lost sheep is to seek it out and to bring it home. We aim to build a culture of esprit de corps, common purpose, and understanding around struggling veterans, letting them know they're not lone figures facing life's challenges. My hope is that "The Warfighter's Mission" will be like a lighthouse—emitting hope, emitting strength, and cutting through, unencumbered, the dense fog that enshrouds so many who are fighting PTSD.Being listened to, being reminded that I have company in this experience, and knowing that I had divine support influenced my healing in a significant way. We endeavor to create an atmosphere of camaraderie, shared belief, and comprehension around veterans who are in need, making it clear to them that they are not solitary figures navigating life's hardships. My aspiration is that "The Warfighter's Mission" serves as a lighthouse—beaming hope, radiating strength, and making its way, unhindered, through the thick fog that surrounds so many who are battling PTSD.
