Family Healing

Did you know that one of the most effective ways to heal is through family bonding. The team here at The Warfighters Mission believe in just that. While focusing on the Veteran or the family as separate entities is important, we full heartedly believe in bringing both Veteran and Family together to heal.

As a Veteran, or an Active Duty service member, we understand the value of Brother and Sister hood. The Military creates a family bond that can never be broken. But when you leave the service, sometimes that connection you once had and miss is no longer on a daily occurrence. Little do we all realize, whether Married with a family or not, we all have a family right in our own homes. Some of us go back to our parents and lives in the states we grew up in and if you had grown a Family while on Active duty or before hand, maybe you stay at your last duty stations location. Building on this foundation and learning to heal with each other is such a valuable tool that we often forget about.

We as humans were never meant to be alone. God created Eve for Adam because he didn’t want him to live on this earth alone. Genesis 2:18 says, The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” I used to think that I was fighting my battles of PTSD alone and that no one else was affected by my actions. Unbeknownst to me, my family was suffering just as much if not at times, more than I was. They were living my Traumas along side me. They walked through it all just as I did. But the one thing that mattered the most was that they did not give up on me even when I gave up on myself.

I am not saying our family is perfect by any means, but what I am saying is that through Faith in God and confiding and trusting in my wife and children we got through some of the hardest seasons of our lives. Not only that but it built a strength that no one will be able to shatter.

The point in all of this is to say this. We do not need to fight our battles alone. We believe that a family whom heals together, stays together and that Bond will never be broken.
